A boy named Drurv, three years of age, was drowned in a hole containing a foot of water at the rear of his parents' residence at Coalbrookdale. SMOKER AND DYNAMITE. Blenheim, Saturday. At Flaxbourne yesterday Thomas Cook, a laborer, threw down a match, which fell among some dynamite. An explosion ensued, and Cook waa taken to the hospital, suffering from sever burns on the arm and face. DEATH UNDER AX ANAESTHETIC. AT NEW PLYMOUTH. A settler of Tarata, named E. A. Marshall, a single man, aged about 34, who came to New Plymouth to undergo an operation, died at a private hospital here yesterday, while under an anaesthetic.
