STAR FOOTBALL CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. There were about twenty-live members present at the annual meeting of the Star Football Club, which was held in the Town Hall last night. Mr. E. Dockrill (president) occupied the chair. The report as published yesterday morning was adopted. The chairman, in moving its adoption, urged the club not to lose heart on account of its present position, but to take encouragement irom the old traditions of the club, which had in former years turned out some giants in the football world. Every club had its ups and downs, and no doubt their turn would conie again. The balance-sheet was adopted. It showed that receipts for the season had amounted to £74 17s Od, of which gates produced £3O 10s Ud, fares and insurances £27 7s, subscriptions, honorary members, £8 19s; playing members, £7! 15s. The expenditure was £9O 12s 3d* of which fares consumed £22 12s 5d and insurances £l9 10s. The loss on the season's working was €ls 14s 9d, and the bank balance has accordingly dropped to £1 9s lOd. Against this, there were liabilities of £1 8s Od, so that the actual credit is Is 4d. Assets were estimated at £25. Seventeen new members were elected. Officers were elected as follows: President, Mr. E. Dockrill (re-elected);., vice-presidents, Messrs. H. Okey, M.P., G. Tiscli, D. Penwarden, W. G. Malone, F. Richards, J. Arthur, E. Whittle, J. McKean, J. A. Tuthill, J. Smith, W. Little, Williams, Emeny, Dr's. Walker, Milroy, Fookes and Home; secretary, Mr. L. G. Hill (re-elected); treasurer, Mr. E. Clarke; delegates to Taranaki Rugby Union, Mr. J. Clarke (senior), Mr. A. N. Pilcher (junior);' management committee, Messrs. H. Evans, C. Brown, H. Dewar, A. J. Tunbridge, F. Hopkins, A. Page and W. Whitaker, with officers ex officio; club captain, Mr. L .G. Hill; auditor, Mr. J. Garcia. The management committee will appoint the senior selection committee and the juniors and second juniors will appoint their on selection committees.

The subscription was fixed at' 2s Od for playing members. » After some discussion it was resolved that the club continue to play in Thursday football. The question of insurance was left to the management committee. It was decided to forward a vote of thanks to Mr. J. Clarke, late secretary to the club, and also a vote of sympathy with him in his illness. A letter of congratulation is also to be forwarded to Mr. A. L. Dixon on. his appointment as town clerk of Whangarei. Votes of thanks to the press, retiring officers, the Association, and the ladies' committee were carried unanimously. The management committee will meet the Ttikapa committee and discuss the procuring of a training shed for players. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
