Wheat.—The markets are depressed, owing to the enormous quantity on passage, which is due to the opening of the ice-bound ports. Lately the Argentine and India have been pressing sales, and more Australian is offering. Two Australian cargoes sold at 34s and 33s 3d respectively. The latter price is asked for sailer cargoes, February, March and April shipments. Stocks of spot are light. There is. small demand for Australian at 35s (id and 30s. New Zealand is practically unobtainable. Flour.—Market dull. Small business in Australian is being done at 24s Cd to 25s spot. Twenty-two shillings and sixpence has been bid for an April ship, ment. r Oats.—Quiet. Gartons lfls Od to 22sSparrowbills 10s to 21s 3d. La Plata April-May shipment 13s 3d. Beans.—Dull. New Zealand 34a 6d to 355. Butter.—The choicest is firm and selling well. Unsaltcd Australian 104s, occasional 106s; New Zealand 110s; secondaries very flat. Danish Is dull at 117s. Cheese—Firm. New Zealand 61s to 625. Canadian 61s to 03s. Copper.—On the spot, £54 7s 6d; at three months, £54 6s 3d; electrolytic £57. Tin.—On the spot, £197 10s;'at three months, £lB6. Lead, £l3. Iron, 47» 4>/ 2 d. Wool.—Bradford wools are strong and active. Sixty-four's 2<)%d; common sixties 25i/ 4 d; fifty-sixes 24 2-3 d; fortysixes 15d; forties 14d.
