A CONFIDENT TONE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, March 30. Mr. Russell French, general manager of the Bank of New South Wales, in his presidential address to the Bankers' Institute, said that during no period in Australian history had the money market been steadier than during the past fifteen years. As a result of closer settlement, banks' advances had increased, but the people amongst whom they were spread had increased in a much greater ratio. He anticipated no diffiiculties in connection with the Federal note issue.
