CARDS

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the New Plymouth Cards Association was held last night. The following delegates wer« present: Messrs. H. Goldwater (Waireka). Inch (Fire Brigade), Mason (Avenue Road), Hooker (Bell Block), Lee (East End), Little (Rifles), Webster (Egmont). The secretary's report showed that the past year had been a most successful one. Eight clubs had affiliated with the association and had teams playing for the various shields. Thechampionship was won by the East End Club, as was also the cribbagt shield. Avenue Road Club won the euchre shield. The balance-sheet sliowed a credit balance of £1 Is 9d. Officers were elected' as follows: President, Mr. Tisch. (re-elected); vicepresidents, H. Okey, M.P., R. Cock, F. BelWnger, W. C. Weston, Jas. Smith (all re-elected), Hayden and E. King; secretary, Mr. L. F. Webster; auditor, Mr. F. A. Lee.

It was decided that nominations close on April 29th, and matches will start during the second week in May. Votes of thanks were passed to the Fire Brigade for use of the station for meetings and tournament matches, and to the press, the chairman and secretary.
