MASTERTON SESSIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Masterton, Yesterday. At the Supreme Court Leo Barker, who was found guilty of a charge of arson, was admitted to probation for four months, and ordered to pay the costs (£10). In the case Anders Olsen, Eketahuna, v. Thomas Gwynn Williams, Canterbury, claim for specific performance, regarumg purchase of a farm for £2708, the defence admitted material allegations in the claim, and counsel moved for judgment on the pleadings, which was granted, and an order made for payment of the amount of the claim, jvilh costs. Masterton, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day a case was heard in which F. C. Fox claimed £5Ol damages from Fredk. O'Connor. The jury, after a retirement of over three -ours, returned a verdict for uefendant. Michael McGovern claimed from one Hodd £SOO for specific performance of an agreement concerning the purchase of some land, of which part was freehold and part leasehold. After Dealing the evidence of plaintiff, His Honor nonsuited plaintiff with costs. WELLINGTON SESSIONS. Wellington, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-dny John Hayes, alias Noon, admitted the theft of jewellery and clothing to the value of £2O, and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Dav»- Irwin was committed for trial on a charge of stealing two rolls of tweed worth £2O.
