ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
A STREET FATALITY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Lust Night. Woeley Mc Kinney, son of Mr. McKinney, of New Erigliton, met with a fatal accident at the Hank of New Zealand corner to-day. He was riding over a crossing on a motor cycle at 8.45 a.m., and tried to pass a furniture waggon belonging to the New Zealand Express Company. When he was level with the waggon one of his wheels skidded on the tramway line. The other wheel struck the hind leg of one of the horses, and Mclvinncy was thrown oft' the machine. His head came violently in contact with the rails, and he sustained a fractm_ of the skull. He was taken to the hospital, where he died shortly before 3 p.m. Those who saw the accident state that both the cyclist and driver of the van were on the right side, and that the accident was caused by the wheel skidding on the tramway line.
