SITJKERS v. POLICE. THE TROUBLE IN -WALES. MILITARY HELD IN READINESS. By Gable—Press Association — Copyright. Received 24, 10.10 p.m. London, March 24. Rioting was resumed to-day at Clydachvale. The mob gathered on the hillside, awaiting a few mine officials, who were greeted with volleys of stones, and forced to take refuge in an hotel. A strong police force attempted to protect them. The mob stoned the hotel. The police charged the hillside, and a severe conflict ensued, the police using batons, and the rioters sticks and stones. Eventually the rioters were dislodged. A . number of police and strikers were badly injured. The executive will continue to arrange for a ballot to be taken on Saturday. A force of military is held in readiness at Tonypandy. POLICEMEN INJURED. London, March 23. Twelve policemen were injured a'. Clydachvale. A waggon of hay and a toolshop were fired. The conflict la.ited two hours.
