PETROLEUM NEWS
BIG YIELD FROM NO. 3. There is no abatement at No. 3 bore. The pressure still continues, with a fair amount of oil coming away all the time. From the 21st to the 24th seventy barrels of oil were secured, and it is hoped that, under better conditions, when the bore has been lowered to a greater depth, even this amount will be increased. It is intended to commence drilling operations again on Monday, if possible, There were a large number of visitors at the bores yesterday. No. 2 is still flowing as steadily as usual. At No. 5 progress has been slower this week than previously, owing to the very sticky nature of the papa through which the bore is passing. The bore is now down about 1300 feet. Should any further development occur at No. .'). immedinte provision will have to be made for further storage accommodation. Buy preference snares at once. They are a perfectly safe and very promising investment, and one that may be. recommended with confidence. Send t« Walter Bcwley, New Plymouth.—Advt.
