Flying Fox was formerly owned by the Duke of Westminster, and won the Derby, the Eclipse Stakes, the St. Leger, , the Two Thousand (Juineas, and the Prince of Wales Stakes at Newmarket in 1800, aiul the New Stakes (Ascot) in 1898. The Racing Commission visited the Timaru racecourse to-day, and expressed satisfaction with the appointments, being particularly interested in the stable! and jockeys' quarters owned by the clubi (the only ones so owned in this island)j and made many inquiries about them.
