Tiio outbreak is traceable to marmots, v.-'''"]! were formerly hunted by Mongols, who ""cognised infested animals and left them -cverely alone. But recently inexperienced Chinese hunters entered the trade, with disastrous results. The disease manifests itself after the hunter's return for the winter. The hunters eat marvots ("bear mouse"), but there is no direct intestinal infec- ! tion.
