BOWRON BROS.
THE BERMONDSEY FIRM'S FAILURE. STATEMENT FROM CHRJSTCHURCH. By Telegraph—Press Association. C'iiristcliurch, Last Night. The failure of Bowron Bros., leather and sheepskin importers, of Bermondsey, England, reported by cable yesterday, will not in any way affect the Bowron Export Company here. A Piety reporter, who made enquiries yesterday, was informed that the firm mentioned acted up to within the last six months or so as agents for Bowron Bros, and Co., Ltd., of New Zealand, a distinct body from the London company, and carried on by different members of the Bowron family. That was the only business relation between the two companies, and that relation itself ceased, in respect of the recently-formed Bowron Bros. Export Company, when that company took over the leather business of Bowron Bros., and no trade connection existed between the new export company and the English company, either directly or indirectly. Bowron Bros., of New Zealand, will, however, be creditors for qfiite a considerable amount in the estate of English company.
