TARANAKI WOOL, SKIN, HIDE AND TALLOW SALES. MR. NEWTON KING'S REPORT. On Tuesday, 14th inst., I held my usual four-weekly sale of above produce, when I offered to a large attendance of buyers a catalogue of 4.7 bales and 184 sacks of wool, 2548 sheepskins, 25 casks, 1 bag, 39 tins and 13 drums tallow, 1723 hides, 031 calfskins, and the. usual assortment of bones, horse-hair, cowtails, etc. Wool—ln consequence of the better tone of the market since my last sale, fleece, lambs' andtlead wool advanced '/id, pieces and locks advanced y»d per lb, Dry and damp sheepskins sold at prices equal to '/>d per lb above late rates. . Hides —My catalogue included abous 900 cow and ox hides from the. Waitara and l'atea freezing works. There was again a strong demand for heavy-weight stout ox hides, these commanding special competition, and sold at Bd, SVid, B'/>d to B%d per lb. Cow hides sold well at late rates. Tallow declined 10s per ton. Tallow—ln casks: Best mixed 2Gs 9d to 275, medium 20s to 2Gs 3d, inferior 24s 3d to 24s 9d. In tins: Best lines 20s. 3d, medium 24s Gd to 24s 9d, inferior 15s Gd.
