THE IMPERIAL CONFERENCE
I AN APPEAL TO MR. ASQUITH. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 20, 10.30 p.m. London. March 20. The' Times, in a leading article, advocates Mr. Asquith presiding at the Imperial Conference. This is due, says> the Times, to the men who will have travelled thousands of miles and devoted months of work to the conference. The status of the conference as the highest deliberative body in the Empire would otherwise deteriorate, and the Prime Ministers of the Dominions would in future be less disposed to spend time and trouble in attending the gathering.
