CANADA AND RECIPROCITY
Sill W. LYNE'S VIEWS. AMERICA SEEKS ANNEXATION. By Cable—JPresa Association—Copyright. Received 21, 12.5 a.m. Sydney, March 20. Sir W. Lync, after discussing the Canadian-American reciprocity arrangements with business men in Canada, returns with a conviction that if the agreement is ratified by the Dominion House, Canada will be annexed to the United States in eight or ten years, and that the British Empire will then begin to disintegrate. He attribute* the reciprocity negotiations to the failure of the British Government in 1907 to make a preferential treaty with the self-governing Dominions, Americans' that Jfe met in San Francisco did not cloak that the idea in their minds was iihe absorption of Canada. Reciprocal trade would allow the American trusts and combines to spread through Canada. He was glad to see that there was a growing feeling in in Canada against the treaty, and he thinks that the people have more sense than to ratify the proposals.
