FIRES.
A HOTEL BURNED. By Telegraph.—Prcs* Association. Thames, Friday. Early this morning the Shortland Hotel, an old building owned by Campbell, Ehrenfried and Co., was found to be on fire. When the brigade arrived the whole top storey was on fire, but splendid work by the brigade, saved the lower half, where little damage was done. The insurances were: Building, £OOO in the Phoenix; furniture, £300; stock. £100; personal effects, £SO in the Imperial. The present licensee is John Yankovitcli.
