HIGH SCHOOL BOARD
MONTHLY MEETING. The usual monthly meeting of the New Plymouth High School Hoard was held yesterday. Present: Messrs. N. K. McDiarmid (chairman), Uockrill, Glnsgow, S. Percy-Smith, Wilson, and Dr. Fookes. An apology for absence was received from Mr. Fraser. It was decided that in future all cups won at the school sports be engraved with the winner's name, at the expenso of the Sports Committee. Chemicals, etc., required for the school ; laboratory, were authorised to be ordered. A letter was received from the Hailway Department, pointing out that the present train service could nqf be altered at present, as there was not sutlieient business to justify it. This was in reply to the Board's request for an earlier train to enable country children to attend the High School. The Agricultural Classes Committee was authorised to obtain necessary tools and seeds. Mr. G. A. Mnrchant furnished a lina! report on the school reserves. The report was of a generally satisfactory nature. Accounts amounting to £l3B Ss fld. were passed for payment.
