THE BERON MURDER
THEORY OF THE DEFENCE. By Gable—Press Association—€epyright. London, March 13. Tn tlie Clapliara Common murder case, Steincr Morrison was cross-examined for a whole day, and made damaging admissions. He admitted using the name of Alexander PetropavlolT in a petition to the Home Secretary praying that he be repatriated to Russia. His name nevertheless was really Morrison. He was born in Sydney in 1882. He admitted a number of convictions since for theft and burglary. "That," he said, in a dramatic outburst, "is the reason why the police are down on me." The defence has now closed.
Steiner Morrison's defence suggests that the murder was a Nihilist revenge on Beron.
