THE POPULATION OF INDIA. Received 14, 12.20 a.m. Calcutta, March 13. The provisional census returns of the population show that Calcutta has 1,010,514, and Rangoon 289,432 people.
EPIDEMIC OF MEASLES. Received 14, 1 a.m. London, Maich 13. A fresh outbreak of measles is reported. At Dartmouth College, there are 35 cases, of which 25 are new.
