Sutton's Giant Evergreen Italian Ryegrass COPIES OF SOME CORRESPONDENCE. (Extract from New Zealand Times.) ANOTHER APPRECIATION. Mr. A. L. Joseph, the other Canterbury authority who judged the fat sheep at Feilding, is also an enthusiastic ad mirer of Mr. Lowrie. Speaking of tie good work the late Principal of Lincoln College did for the farmers of Canterbury, Mr. Joseph mentioned, among ot her things, tho demonstration of Mr. Lowrie of the remarkable value of Sut ton's Devon Eaver Italian ryegrass, Mr. Lowrie had great faith in this grass, and he showed good reason "for it by running fifteen ewes and their lambs on' a field of it. The field at T.i^nl n laid down to Devon Eaver in March. In May the cows were put on it. Then foui ewes to the acre were lambed down. The grass got away so quickly, however, that the fifteen ewes and lambs referred to were turned in, but even this great stocking failed to keep down the luxuriant feed. Devon Eaver is a remarkable rye, declares Mr. Joseph; its growth is phenomenal. Where the ordinary Italian will not carry more than four or five sheep to the acre, Mr. Lowrie demonstrated that the Sutton variety would carry over three times that number. E. GRIFFITHS AND CO.
