PROSECUTION OF STRIKERS. By Cable. —Pr<"w As«ocintion.—Copyright. Received 9, 9.40 p.m. Sydney, March 9. The Industrial Court has granted leave to prosecute employees nt the Lithgow ironworks and Carcoar mines, who recently left work for an alleged strike.
STOCK RETURNS. Received 10, 12.55 a.m. Sydney, March 9.
The Chief Inspector pf Stock estimates that the number of horses in the State at the end of last year was 529,085, an increasj of 12,302 as compared with the previous year; cattle, 2,094,183, an increase of 47,8&3; sheep, 43,553,105 a decrease of 591,400. It is difficult to account for the decrease in sheep, as lamuing was on a par with the previous year.
