OBSERVATION FROM VAVAU. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Fremantle, March 9. The members of two scientific expeditions are passengers on the Otvvay, and are proceeding to Vavau to observe the eclipse of the sun on April 29. One is in charge of Father Cartie, Professor of Physics at Stonyhurst College, Lancashire, the accredited representative of the Royal Astronomical Society and Royal Society. The other is under Mr. Lockyer, first assistant at the Solar Physics Observatory, South Kensington, representative of the British Government.
