THE ASSOCIATION GAME. ]Sy Telegraph— Preaa Association. Wellington, Last Night. The council of the New Zealand Football Association met to-night. Mr. A. U. (Jibbs, the association's representative! in London, wrote intimating that' Queensland had favorably replied to his! letter in connection with tile combined] representative scheme, and he hoped to] hear from South Australia, Victoria, and Tasmania shortly on the same matter. It was also intimated that the scheme had been favorably received at Home. The Wangamii Association intimated that it would be prepared to guarantee £llO towards the expenses of a New South Wales team during its proposed tour of the Dominion. The secretary reported that lie had written to all associations which had promised guarantees, asking for information as to the form the guarantees would take. He was instructed to write to those associations which had not yet replied, urging tJiein not to take action. The Manawatu Association wrote that it would be considering the question of guarantee this week. It was mentioned that the district clubs had expressed their willingness to contribute.

A letter from the Otago Association stated that an endeavour was to bo made to encourage the game both in Damaru and Timaru.
