REMARKABLE RAIN STORM
MELBOURNE STREETS SUBMERGED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 8, 12.15 a.m. Melbourne, March 7. There was a remarkably heavy storm this afternoon. Blinding rain fell, and streets were submerged. Railways in many places were covered, and trains were ploughing through floods. Vehicles were axle-deep in many streets, and the water was over the footpths. Races and all outdoor events were postponed. Considerable damage is reported.
