A WHARF FATALITY. By Telegraph.—-Press Aasociatkm. Wellington, Monday. Sherwood, who was injured on "the wharf on .Saturday, died at 8 o'clock lust night. ' A NARROW ESCAPE. Taihape, Monday. A man named Tweedale had a narrow escape while trying to board a moving train on Saturday night. He fell between the carriages, but managed to retain hold of a stanchion. He was dragged some distance before the train was stopped by the sJtationinaster (lashing a red light. • The cloths on the man's back were ground through by the ballast. The promptness of the driver saved the man's life.
A SLEEP-WALKER INJURED. Invercargill, Last Night. An unusual accident occurred here this morning, when a young man, Montague Clark, a wool sorter, and a recent arrival from Christchurch, walked in his sleep at the Carriers' Arms Hotel, and fell through a skylight, badly cutting himself, mostly about the scalp. Clarkis now progressing satisfactorily at the hospital. A 21-months-old child, belonging to Mr. R. G. Nairn, residing on the Stuart road, near Eltham, met its death on Saturday afternoon by accidentally falling into a dam.
