Flavian did two miles in 3min s(isec, ' Bolan one mile in lmin 55sec, Obi eleven furlongs in 2min 40scc, Apple Pie ten furlongs in 2inin 17sec, Prize Fighter twelve furlongs in 2min 45sec, and Pa- I tronatus twelve furlongs in 2min 42y 3 sec. V.R.C. AUTUMN MEETING. Received 5, 7.40 p.m. Flemington, March 4. In accordance with the increasing prosperity, the autumn gathering proven, the biggest on record. The weather was line, and much warmer than at many spring meetings. The racing was splendid, the second and third races being' run in record time. Results: I Pines Hurdles.—Royal Fleet 11.4, 1; King's Ransom 10.13, 2; Hayrick 9.11,' 3. Fourteen runners. The winner was never troubled, and w%n by two lengths. Time, 3min 30% sec. ' | St. Leger.—Danaus 1, Golden Point 2,' Bohadea 3. Also started: Indiscreet,• Aurofodina, St. Wyne, Gunrest, Firearm, Stepniak—lshtar gelding, unnamed. Danaus led from start to finish, with Golden Point always handy. Danaus led into the straight by a length from Aurofodina, with Golden Point and the | others bunched. Bobadea then made a fruitless effort. Won by, one and half lengths, with one length between second and third. Time, 3min s%sec. Newmarket.—Queen of Scots (Cooper) 1, Desert Rose (Foulsham)' 2, Broadsword (Connell) 3. Carette and Sequarious were scratched. Captain White, Blairgour and Braw Scot were the first to break the line. Nurwa was also prominent. When passing the four furlong I post at a great bat, Blairgour led from Captain White, Nurwa, Kurangai, Desert Rose, Lager, Hartfell, and Rightaway. The latter led into the straight proper from Desert Rose. Blairgour at this stage was beaten. Then Queen of Scots dashed out, followed by Broadsword, but he was too late, Desert Rose gaining on Queen of Scots. An exciting race was won by Queen of Scots by a neck, only half a length separating Desert Rose and Broadsword. England was fourth. Time, lmin 12V 2 sec. j Sires' Produce Stakes.—Wilari 1, Sconter 2, Flaith 3. Also started: Radiator, Elvanite, Twa Brigs, Blythsome, Guidgirl, Sweet Malt, Stabbs, Orvieto. Wilari led from start to finish, and romped home by two and a half lengths, with a neck between the next two. Time, lmin 4%sec. Essendon Stakes.—Comedy King 1, Trafalgar 2, Alawa 3. Also ran: Matouri, Bibbinluke, Parisian, Son of the Marsh. Bibbinluke led the field to the mile post, where Comedy King was lying third and Alawa last but one. Trafalgar was third at the turn, and Alawa running splendidly, raced fourth. Bibbinluke fell back, and Trafalgar raced into the straight from Alawa. Comedy King then made his run, and after a few strides the result was undoubted. Trafalgar was ridden hard, but had no hope with Comedy King, who was full of running, and won by a length, Alawa eight lengths away third, with the others | trailing badly. Time, 2min 3iy 2 sec. Brunswick Handicap.—Eye Glass 7.12, and loyal Blue 7.13, dead-heat, 1; | Chauvclin 7.8, 3; Adgio 8.3, 4. There I were ten runners. Won by a neck, with I a length and a quarter* between the next two horses. Time, 2min 7sec. j
Saturday's was one of the best day's racing seen, at Remington. Comedy King established an Australasian record for a mile and a half, beating Marlce's Randwick performance by three-quarters of a second.
