MINING ACCIDENT. By Telegraph.—-Pres« Association. Greymouth, March 4. A fall in the State Coul Mine yesterday afternoon entombed u newcomer named White, whose body was only extricated at midnight, alter strenuous work. Another man had a narrow escape.
MANY DAYS. Dunedin, Last Night. A man named Dusenuis Fruhstuch, a gardener, aged 01 years, died at his residence, South Dunedin, this morning, as the result of a trap accident some time ago. lie was out driving at Middlemarch, and was thrown out of the trap, the wheel passing over him. He returned to Dunedin, and has been attended by four doctors at various times. Deceased leaves a grown-up family. A TRACK ACCIDENT. Christchurch, Last Night. A well-known trainer and rider of trotting horses, Robert Allan, was thrown from a horse at the New Brighton Club's trotting "meeting yesterday afternoon. He was conveyed to the hospital, where he wad found to be suffering from concussion of the brain. Allan regained consciousness to-day, and is progressing favorably.
ACCIDENT ON THE KAIPARA. Wellington, Last Night. While working on loading operations on the steamer Kaipara yesterday afternoon, a laborer named William Sherwood, a single man, met with an accident, which resulted in several ribs being broken. He is now in hospital.
