MISPLACED CLEMENCY. By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright. London, February 28. Young Unionist members are almost daily questioning Mr. Churchill respecting the whereabouts of the Dartmoor shepherd who was liberated on parole and disappeared.
Messrs. Churchill and Lloyd-George, when visiting Dartmoor Prison, discovered a prisoner who appeared to them to be suffering from an unduly severe sentence, and he was therefore liberated on parole and occupation found for him, but the experiment resulted unfavorably, as mentioned above.
