RESULT OF FEDERAL ORDINANCE. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Received 1. 9.20 p.m. Port Darwin, March 1. A deputation of unemployed Chinese and Malays asked for employment or rations. Most of them were old residents. They pointed out that the result of the recent ordinance against Asiatic labor deprived them of employment in the mining and fishing industries and on the wharves. The residents promised to consult the Federal Government. Besides robbing the Asiatics of their means of livelihood, their exclusion from the fishing industry, upon which the community is largely dependent, is seriously felt.
