The Finance Bill will he taken next week in the House of Commons, and thereafter the committee stage of the Parliament Bill will occupy three weeks under the operation of the guillotine. THE VETO CONFERENCE. WHY NO DISCLOSURES? Received 28, 10.10 p.m. London, February 28. In the House of Commons, Mr. Asquith informed Mr. Barry Lawson that all members of the Veto Conference had concurred in the decision that there should be no public disclosures of the proceedings. He was neither empowered nor disposed to go back upon that decision. The Times, commenting on this, declares that the Unionist leaders concurred in the decision at the express wish of the Liberal leaders, and against their own desire. The Liberal leader, in opposing the request for an official statement, had argued that if silence were observed regarding the proceedings, the conference method could be kept alive for future use, if a resort thereto were desired.
