In the Chamber of Deputies, the Social-ist-Radical party accused the Government of conniving with the religious orders in relation to the re-opening of schools, in order to curry favor with the centre. M. Briand vigorously denied this.

A vote of confidence in the Government was carried by 202 to 238. The Cabinet is considering the advisability of resigning. Received 27, 12.25 a.m. Paris, February 26. The Cabinet resigns after M. "Bran's funeral.
