SUPREME COURT.
CHARGE OF MURDER. By Ten-graph.—Press Association. Auckland, Yesterday. Albert Alfred Cash was charged at the Supreme Court with the murder of his wife at Helensville on Christmas Day. He was led into the box sobbing uncontrollably, and frequently succumbed to renewed outbursts of weeping. His hair has turned grey at the back since the last proceedings, and there were deep lines, not present before, searing his forehead. The ease will last the whole day.
THE NAPIER SESSIONS. Napier, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day evidence for the defence was concluded in the case against Donald Morrison, charged with sheep-stealing at Ormondvillc. The jury, after nearly five hours' retirement, failed to agree. The Crown Prosecutor applied for a new trial forthwith, which was granted and set down for hearing to-morrow. Frederick Williams, charged with breaking and entering and attempted rape at Hastings, was found guilty, and remanded till to-morrow for sentence.
