TROUBLE BREWING
POLICE, POLITICS, AND PETTICOATS. By Cable—Press Association —Copyright. London, February 23. The Women's Parliamentary Suffrage Committee asks Mr. Churchill for a public inquiry into the conduct of the police from November 18 to 23. The committee alleges that the police interpreted the order not to make arrests as a license to do as they pleased. Onlookers state that women were struck with fists, their arms twisted, thumbs bent, backs and breasts crushed, their skirts raised, and other indecencies committed.
