Schneider, who represents Australia in the Festival of Empire team, to-day broke several Australasian records. Ho covered a flying quarter of a mile in 25 3-ssec, an unpaced half-mile in 55 4-ssec, and an unpaeed mile in 2min 1 3-ssee. [The cable agent has mixed up these records.] INVERCARGILL AND THE UNION. By Telbgraph.—Press Association. Invereargill, Last Night. A conference of representatives of the Caledonian Society and the Athletic Union took place to-night with the desired result, so far as the delegates are concerned, and at a special meeting ol the Caledonian Society next Friday the Society will be recommended to affiliate with the New Zealand Athletic Union on terms to be stated.
