PETER BOWLING

ORGANISING MORE TROUBLE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurcli, Last Night. Peter Bowling, who left to-night for Wellington, en route for Sydney, stated to a reporter that if wanted he was willing to come back to New Zealand to undertake organising work in connection with the general elections, and it was probable that he would. His presence was at present required in New South Wales, and though a successor had been appointed to his old position, that was not going to debar him from going back and raising the old questions which led to the strike of about twelve months ago. On that occasion the employers were taken by surprise, and at a disadvantage, but the men were not able.to secure all their demands. When he got back he was going to call the men together for the purpose of making the demands again, and the matter was going to be pushed to the bitter end., He hoped there would not be another strike, but if a strike was necessary to secure their ends they would have another strike, and, thanks to their oranisation, it would be of greater magnitude and more complete than the one of twelve months ago. He did not mind saying that in the event of such a happening it would not be only the miners who would go out. He was not afraid of the risk of having to go to gaol again, for they had a sympathetic Government in power, and one which would probably support them in their actions.
