IMPLEMENT MAKERS' STRIKE

POLICE PREPARING FOR TROUBLE.

By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Melbourne, February 21. Two thousand seven hundred implement workers are now on strike. A mass meeting of 1500 unanimously endorsed the executive's action in calling a strike at the Sunshine works. Only 250 of 1650 employees are working in other shops similarly placed. An effort is being made to get workers on the wharves to refuse to handle non-union-manufactures intended for export. The request will be considered'by the Waterside Workers' Federation today. While the strike continues, police holidays are curtailed in order to have ready a large constabulary force in the event of riots. So far there has been no sign of disorder.
