AUCKLAND'S FATAL FIRES.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. At the inquest on Albert Norrie, who met his death at a fire in n boardinghouse on Saturday morning, the jury found that death was caused by suffocation from fire. All those injured in Thursday's firu are progressing satisfactorily, with the exception of Mrs. Porteous, whose condition is still serious. TWO MEN SERIOUSLY BURNED. Auckland, Last Night. Two men named Dixon and Davidson were injured at the Portland Cement Company's works at Warkworth to-day. A bin into which coal runs caught fire, and both were seriously burned. Dixon's condition is serious. TIMBER TRAIN CAPSIZES. Auckland, Last Night. The locomotive drawing the Taupo totara timber train from Putaruru to Mokai capsized on Saturday night on thu part of the line known as "the corkscrew." tl urned three complete somersaults with the driver and fireman in the cab, and it is a wonder that they were not killed outright. The fireman received a fractured skull, and the driver was severely scalded. The fireman was removed to the Hamilton hospital to-day.
