MOA ROAD BOARD
I MONTHLY MEETING. [ The Board met at Inglewood on Saturday, when the following members were 'present:—Messrs. 11. Trimble (chairman), Bishop, J. Williams, Virgin, Col- , lingwood, Gorki! 1, Lawrence and R. T. Williams. I Resolved that the chairman and Mr. Lawrence inspect Everett road with a view of opening a pit, with full power to procure metal for the road. Mr. Lawrence will inspect ford on Ross road and report. Mr. S. Orbell was appointed to carry out the work of the Board at present, under the supervision of Messrs. Orbell and Mockay. Mr. Stead waited on the Board and asked that the water-tables on Kohete road be attended to; last year it was in a very bad state in the winter; about six or seven days would finish the work, which had been begun.—The work to he attended to. Mr. J. Taylor, Egmont road, was granted permission to drain into tht Board's waterway provided he kept it clear as promised. Mr. J. W. Harding, Hawera, wrote asking the Board to effect repairs "to the drain opposite his property on Norfolk road.—The Board has no funds available with which to do the work. The report of the committee on Norfolk road east, recommending the Board not to proceed with the work unless tlie ratepayers interested were prepared to pay their fair share of the work, was approved of. The sum of £4 13s Od, being "thirds" accrued to 30th September, 1910, on Crown lands under the administration of the Board, was forwarded by the Receiver of Land Revenue. The monthly statement showed receipts to be £2391 Cs lid, with a. balance on October 2, 1910, of £3O 12s 3d. Accounts amounting to £591 14s lid (general £173 0s Bd, and loans £4lB 89 3d) were passed for payment.
