The Labor Conference adopted the following planks as the fighting platform: The abolition of the Legislative Council and the substitution therefor of the initiative referendum, electoral reform, and proper machinery for the true representation of the people in Parliament:, the regulation of the hours of labor. »he cessation of further sales of Crown Unds, a proper system of closer settlement, water conservation and irrigation', restriction of public borrowing, the establishment of a land bank, graduated land tax, free education in secondary and technical schools and the University, and nationalisation of coal mines. The final sitting reconsidered the three years' probationary resolution carried at the previous sitting, and decided that it should not apply to present sitting members. It was decided that the executive refuse endorsement of candidates who*e sobriety could not be relied upon. Another resolution approved the free enrriaarc on railways and tramways of all children under the age of ten.
