ANNUAL COXFEREXCE. By Telegraph,—Press Association. Dunedin, Tuesday. The conference of the Congregational Union was resumed to-day. At the. morning sitting Rev. J. R. Glasson read a paper on the subject of the Church in its relation to Labor. In the course of his remarks, he dealt with the present situation, the present attitude of Labor leaders to the Church, the definition of Church, and its message and functions; what the Church could not do, and what it could, must, and out to do, if it were to fulfil its true mission in the world. In the afternoon, the Finance Committee reported that the income was estimated at £3328 Os lOd, leaving £577 10s to be provided by the churches. It had been decided to allocate districts as follows:—Auckland Wellington £lO4, Canterbury £6l 10s, Otago £132. It was decided that a loan of £250 from the sites fund be granted to Sydenham, also that the Oamaru property be not sold for the present. An application from Te Kuiti for a loan was referred to the Executive, with power to act. The Pastors' Provident Fund Board reported that the credit balance on capital account was £3277 10s Sd, and on the revenue account £IOB IBs 4d, while interest received during the year was £159 10s. Seven ministers had responded to become beneficiaries under the fund, and three were desirous of joining, but were debarred by one of the rules. The report was adopted, and the rule referred to was amended. In the evening a missionary meetin» was held. Revs. R. Mitchell and W. Tanner, of the North Island, spoke of the work being done there.
