ALLEGED ANGLO-GERMAN DUEL. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, February 13. •Sensational rumors are current regarding an alleged duel between two wool-buyers, an Australian and a German. The story is that the controversy on the Anglo-German question ended in the Briton easting a reflection on tile German Empire. The German sought, to satisfy his outraged honor by an appeal to arms, and challenged the Australian, who accepted, though r.o swordsman. A full-dress meeting was arranged in a lonely spot in the Centennial Park, and four swords and two seconds were pro--vidcul—... The German drew first blood, wounding his opponent in the arm, and the Australian, becominglieated, forgot the* rules, and, wielding his blade with both bands, succeeded, in wounding the German in the ann. Honor satisfied, the combat ended. Names are freely mentioned..but the, Briton ridicules the story.
