COMPENSATION' CASE. By lelegrapb.—Press Association. Christehurch, Tuesday. In the Arbitration Court to-day Henry White was awarded £350, in addition to the £3O paid into court by James Rowc, for compensation for a fractured hip received while claimant was in Rowc's employ as builder's foreman. WELLINGTON HARBOR LOAN. Wellington, Tuesday. At a special meeting of the Harbor Board the chairman (Mr. R. Milligan), who had been entrusted with the negotiations, reported that he had arranged for the flotation of the Bound's consolidated loan of £215,000 at 4 per cent, at par. The loan had been taken by the AiMJP., Sydney. The Board confirmed the arrangements, considering the flotation a brilliant success, and warmly congratulating the chairman. THE WAITOMO CAVES. Auckland, Last Night. The splendid new caves discovered at Waitomo, near the present grottos, were formally opened to-day by the Hon. T. Mackenzie. The Minister was accompanied by the Hon. C. M. Luke, M.L.C., and Mr W. J. Jennings, M.P. After the ceremony the visitors were entertained at luncheon.
