DEATH
RABBIT RING IN SYDNEY. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 14, 0.30 p.m. Sydney, February 14. A deputation assured the Minister of Agriculture that a strong combine existed in the rabbit trade, and prevented independent buyers obtaining freezing space. Mr. Trefle, assistant to the Minister, in the course of his reply, said he was determined that independent men's occupations should be assured. The Government would not hesitate to do what was necessary, even to the extent of hurriedly directing freezing works to guarantee a fair field to all legitimate traders. "No combine," he continued, "shall monopolise the market of this country, and the Government will not stop at cither cost or drastic legislation to stamp out any attempt at a combine similar to those existing in America."
