The steamer New Guinea, en route from Melbourne to Sydney, went ashore at Disaster Ray, near Green Cape, during a dense fog. The forcpeak is full of water. The crew abandoned the vessel and escaped in lifeboats. The steamer is likely to become a total wreck.
