The postal employees have expressed consternation at the decision to close tlie post offices at six o'clock, fearing extensive retrenchment. Mr. Cook, deputy-leader of the Federal Opposition, characterises the change as reform by repression. Adelaide, February 11. The Postal Employees' Executive has arranged an interview with Mr. Fisher and Mr. Thomas. It will be important as the executive intends to exhaust constitutional methods before resorting to drastic action. DEPUTY-POSTMASTERS COMPLAIN. Received 13, 12.58 a.m. Melbourne, February 12. The deputy-postmasters condemn the Public Service Commissioners' proportional grading system, and the Postmas-ter-General has instructed them to drawup an alternative. It is hoped that ultimately satisfactory arrangements will be made.
