WAITARA NEWS
(STrom Our Own Correspondent.) ! The North Taranaki Dairy Co.'s re- j turns for the month of January show that £1052 4s 5d has been paid to suppliers for milk, as against £IO4O 4s 8d for January, 1910, an increase of' £6ll 19s 9d. Milk increased from--063,G331bs to 971,2421b5,an increase of 307,(i()91b5. The butter made was 47,4411b, an increase of over seven tons against the conesponding period of the previous year. There are now 57 suppliers taking milk to the factory. The concert on Thursday evening in connection with the band was another success. The hall was well filled, and, judging by the numerous plaudits, the audience enjoyed the long programme. The sleight-of-hand tricks of Professor Towns, and his cabinet of mystery, were much appreciated. The vocalists, Miss May Jones, Messrs. Farmer, Stamp and Smith, had all to repeat their numbers. The bandsmen's solos were well played, and even by the average man a vast improvement on the previous year's playing was detected. The band should make a good showing at next week's contest.
