At a welcome to the New Zealand Missioned it was stated, in detailing the success of the mission, that the general prosperity and absence of conventionality seemed to stimulate interest in Divine things. The Rev. De Carteret declared that the missioners found the old theology met the deepest need of the New Zealanders. The Rev. McKinlock said there was no better training ground in the world than New Zealand for young English clergy.
