WIRELESS IN AUSTRALASIA
SEVERAL UNDERTAKINGS. NEW ZEALAND CONTRACTS LET. By Cable—Press Association— Coijvright. Received 11, 8.5 p.m. Sydney, February 11. The report of the Australian Wireless, Limited, states that the company has secured the Commonwealth Government contract for the erection of two highpower wireless stations. It also states that the New Zealand Government has accepted the company's tender for two high-power stations and five smaller stations of the ship type. Negotiations have been concluded with the Union Steam Ship Company to supply five stations to that company, with prospects of further orders from the same company in the near future. The agreement between the company and the Gesellschaft Fur Drahtlese Telegraphic for ihe purchase of the Telefunken wireless patents in Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands has not been received, but a cable has been received that the agreement is completed. The directors have under consideration a scheme for the flotation of a public company to take over the company's rights and undertakings. THE NEW ZEALAND STATIONS. The lowest tender received by the Government for the establishment of wireless telegraph stations in New Zealand is that of the Australasian Wireless, Ltd. Details of the tender and agreement are now under consideration by the Crown law officers.
