In the New Zealand swimming championships the draw between Canterbury A and WeJlington B in the water polo match was played off 10 night, and resulted in a win for CnnUrbury by three goals to one. INGLEWOOD AMATEUR SWIMMING CLUB. The sports held under the auspices of the Club at the bathß yesterday were very successful. The entries were fair, and the exhibitions in the various events were creditable under the circumstances. The following were the results: Gymnasium Boys' Race (50yds). The relay race was won by the Stratford tewi.
At the conclusion of the above events, Messrs. w. Lints and A. Maxwell gave an exhibition of ai practhrd by the Royal Life-Saving Society, i>nd the Shafer method of resuscitation, and also land d.-ill and methods of release, and rescie in tin: water. All their work was fully explained b.v Mr, Lints, and this part of the programme especially was thoroughly appreciated. The secretary, Mr. W. H. Quickfall, was in charge, and deserves a word of praise for his efforts in carrying out the first meeting held by the Club. Mr. C. 15. Seabright was the handicapper, and nianged to bring the contestants close together in the finishes. Dr. Hislop judged the races, and Mr. Lints acted in a similar capacity in the diving events, as well as attending to the starting.
