BREAKS BOUNDS AT MELBOURNE. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Received 8, 12.55 a.m. Melbourne, February 7. Twenty-eight Lascars deserted from the steamer Aparima owing to the captain placing some of their countrymen under restraint for insubordination. The deserters marched the streets in a body. The police intercepted them at Newport, and removed them to the loek-up. Tlie captain would be responsible for fines totalling £2BOO if the deserters had escaped.
